The painting began as a landscape. Kimberley hillsides illuminated by the late afternoon sun. The mood of the painting changed as I began to introduce spiritual and human elements into the lower half of the painting. To me a completed painting serves two purposes. Firstly it powers the artist along on a creative and emotional journey. Secondly it allows other viewers to interpret the paintings meaning with their own thoughts and feelings.
